information, such as:
A. print/database sources: books, journal articles
B. online sources: science-based, credible websites (see below)
C. interview sources: professionals in the community
Authoritative sources do not include the opinions of friends, relatives or political figures.
Likewise, although sites like Wikipedia can be generally useful, they are not considered
authoritative for this assignment (or for academic writing in general). With very few
exceptions, you want to avoid getting your information from commercial (.com, .biz)
entities. Use at least three sources.
Your topic is not to be a personal narrative. A brief reference to personal experience is
fine. However, for the purposes of this assignment, you are discussing something that
you’re researching.
Design a PPT that will be the basis of your presentation. Design your publish PPT with at least one slide for each of the numbered points below.
A. Introduction
1. What is the topic of your presentation?
2. What are the three main points you will cover in your presentation?
3. What sources of information did you use?
B. Main Body of Speech
1. What did you learn about the topic?
2. What is one resource on this topic in the Twin Cities metro area that
might be helpful to your classmates?
C. Conclusion
1. What do you conclude or think about the information?
D. Bibliography
1. Include a bibliography of the sources that you used in your presentation.
Use APA format.
Your publish will be at least seven slides long.
